Marketers these days have plenty of marketing approaches to choose from.

They can settle for the very cheap, which include simple flyers and brochures, to the most expensive such as a spot in the Superbowl. They can also make use of new technology such the World Wide Web or even the telephone.

But here is the bad news is not all of them will work. Some of them will generate the most number of leads for your business while the others will not even give you any. There are a number of them that will provide you with an ROI while the rest could just be plain advertising expenses. You may also realize that if all things are created equal, Internet lead generation is so much better than telemarketing.

Here are the reasons why:

1. Internet is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Yes, we are talking about constant marketing. You may ask, though, how one will be able to do it. A good Internet marketer can always create an opt-in page. This is also a landing page, if he is using Google ads. It is basically just one page that talks about the benefits and features of his product or service. If a visitor is interested to know more about it he can sign up, and he becomes a prospect or a business Internet lead.

Telemarketing on the other hand can always get cut off by a lot of things. You may have to stop when you need to run some errands, clean the house, fetch the kids, do your full-time work, or even when you sleep.

2. The World Wide Web is a lot cheaper. Since there are more Internet providers available, the competition among them becomes tough. To attract more customers, they would usually bring down the price of their service. In fact, they can offer a bundle, where they can give away a phone and Internet line at a much cheaper price. Most of all, when it comes to online marketing, there are some strategies that are available for free.

For example, you can attract more prospects by submitting articles to article directories and press release websites. Most of them do not cost anything. You just need to open your own personal account. You can also promote your business through social networking websites such as MySpace and Facebook. Again, they are completely free. You may also set up a blog account or participate in forums, where you can place links to your opt-in page in the Signature box.

I really do not need to tell you about the costs of telephone services. Even if they appear to be affordable at the beginning, they will still be very expensive since you are going to place a lot of calls every month.

3. The Internet has a much bigger reach. It’s easy for you to go global with the World Wide Web than with your telephone. Have you ever considered using your own phone line to call prospects living in Asia or in Europe? Perhaps you do, but you may be hesitant. This is because you know that it’s going to cost you a lot. It will also hurt your business if you won’t be able to convert a lot of your leads to customers. It only means that you’re spending without getting anything in return.

The Internet, on the other hand, already provides you a venue to reach out to thousands of people who are scattered all over the world. There’s no need for you to think about long-distance or roaming charges.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

Improve Lead Management and Generate Sales

Download This Document from Docstoc

There are a lot of business owners who would put the blame of the failure of their lead generation to their software:

“I got the wrong one.”

“It was too difficult to manage than my good-old Excel sheet.”

“I cannot share it with my salespeople.”

“It doesn’t produce the kind of report I would like.”

“I thought it could run 24 hours, 7 days a week.”

Okay, stop it. The truth is that there’s nothing really wrong with the lead manager. It will be useful as long as you know how to use it to your advantage. Therefore, what you should strive is how you can effectively manage your leads.

Here’s the Problem

Most businesses really don’t care about their leads—or their importance to their growth. Sometimes they already have their prospects, and yet they don’t track them. In fact, more than 60 percent of these sales leads remain untracked. This is also the same percentage of people who will look for other companies for their products ands services. A good portion of them could have been tracked, but the company has not devised a mechanism to nurture them. It would not be long before their interest would wane. By the moment you’re ready with your offer, they are no longer hearing it from you. And if these weren’t enough, around 80 percent of your marketing campaigns are useless, simply because you’re not doing anything with the results or the leads.

Make It a Sustained Effort

Are you a businessperson who would send catalogs or e-mails only when you have something to offer? When there’s none, your prospects would not be hearing from you? Then, you have no one to blame for the failure of your marketing strategies than you. You may have forgotten that an effective lead management is a sustained effort. This means that you have to make it a point to not only track or nurture your leads today but regularly. They may not be your leads for this campaign, but you will surely make use of them very soon. By nurturing and tracking them, it will be very easy for you to convert them to sales-ready leads.

Stick with the Pareto Principle

Do you know the Pareto principle? To put it simply, around 20 percent of the things that you do matters. When it comes to your lead management there’s no point in spending too much effort, money, and time on a lot of leads when only 10 percent of them are actually your real prospects. You would learn that you can earn more when you stick with the 10 percent since they easily bite to your offers, spread the news to their friends, and get more leads for you. They will also be the same ones who will hear you out first when you have a new product or service coming up. They can help you generate an excellent ROI at the least amount of time.

How to Judge Your Lead Management

So how do you exactly know that you’re managing your leads very well? You will know it when you can immediately send the information that your leads need. It can pertain to your products or services, or to your business as a whole. You will also know it if you can easily enter all the information that you can derive from them into your lead manager. This way, when you’re ready to track, all the contact details are already in place and in order.

With proper lead management, you are giving your business a chance to grow through a powerful group of people: your leads.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

Some Things Most People Don’t Know about Lead Management

Download This Document from Docstoc

Most marketers know what the definition of lead is. According to how your dictionary says it, in marketing lingo, a lead is someone who is interested in what you are offering or advertising. It’s called a “lead” simply because it leads you down a possible path where you can find a figurative pot of gold in the end--that is, a possible deal to be closed at the end of the journey.

That is why a lot of people give a somewhat undeserved emphasis on lead generation; a lot of effort and money are spent just to get new leads and add them to the database. For what? A mere 1-out-of-100 chance of closing a lead with one of those new leads? All that time, old and neglected leads are sitting behind “closets,” the fields in the database where their information is placed in. These old leads are not afforded anyone’s attention since their minds are altogether bent on the new and fresh leads that come in every day.

That and a few others are just some of the errors that even the most experienced marketer makes every once in a while during a marketing campaign.

Error #1: Old Leads Are Unqualified

There is one likely reason why a lead would be dubbed as “old.” They are declassified because they have been pitched an offer, and they refused. As a result, marketers automatically discard these leads--actually they are just stored in a database--and move on to searching for new, better qualified leads. However, that is plainly wrong.

Leads are just like animals. If you neglect your pets, chances are their loyalties will shift to someone else, and they won’t warm up to you. That is especially true when it comes to cats. Fail to feed a cat a lot of times, and you’ll be surprised that he won’t come home to you.

The same truth applies to leads. Just because they have refused the offer doesn’t have to mean that they are not interested; they simply weren’t ripe enough for the taking. Just like your feeding a cat so that he stays at your home, you have to continually prod and knock at the doors of a lead until he comes to the door and say, “Yes, you can come in.” For this reason, old leads should not be discarded right away. When you realize that, you’ll also find that you have a wealth of possible clients lying within your leads database.

Error #2: New Leads Are Hot

Most people consider new leads simply because they are yet untested and are potentially interested, unlike the leads that have earlier refused an offer. While this much is true, some new leads are not exactly hot. This much is true when you have bought leads from a third-party provider. Chances are these leads have already been processed, proved to be unqualified, and, as a result, are recycled for unsuspecting marketers to purchase and work through. A lot of money and time are then wasted both for buying and for processing these leads.

The truth is that all leads are “hot.” All leads are interested in your product. However, it is a big mistake to say that, once a lead refuses after one or two levels of nurturing, he should be discarded and left to rot in a database. Of course, some leads are simply not interested in buying since they are only interested in information. However, some leads are interested. It’s only because they’re not ready yet to buy, or they have not yet realized their need that they refuse to buy. All you need to do is nurture them and grow their interest one level after another.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

How to Find Leads for Healthcare Products

Download This Document from Docstoc

Family healthcare is one of the biggest companies and businesses in the world. Like all the biggest businesses, it is based on one of the greatest needs in a person’s life, which is the need to have access to the best medicine and healthcare services. Relying on income alone is not enough for most people. Sometimes an emergency arises just when someone doesn’t have enough money to meet the urgency. Healthcare products address that need by reimbursing people for what they spend on medicines, surgeries, and anything related to their recovery.

Everyone needs healthcare--that’s undeniable. That’s why some people become agents for healthcare companies. While it’s a big market, however, it’s not big enough if you don’t know how to find the people who really need the product enough to buy it. That’s what most marketers call lead generation.

Leads are simply information that points you to a person that has enough interest for your products. That’s why it’s called a lead--because it leads you to your potential market. Leads are generated a lot of ways, and you, as a marketer, should know how to do that.

The best place to find leads, of course, the Internet. The Internet is where most people go to find information on everything, including healthcare. These are the people who you should target and who should be the recipient of your offers. However, it is not easy to find and capture information on these people, but there are ways that you can do that to your benefit.

How to Take Advantage of the Internet

The best places to look for leads in the Internet are independent websites. These sites would include forums, as they do not subscribe or promote any company. As a result, people don’t hesitate to visit them because they don’t bombard people with information that will only serve the companies’ interests and not theirs. True, there are ads, but the majority of the information people look for can be found in a forum. As a marketer, you can try and act like a normal person inside the forums.

Participate in discussions but don’t mention anything about your business, or else you’ll end up getting banned. You can, however, advertise your business on your signature. Anyone who is interested in your products will click the link on your signature or will even contact you. This will then result to a lead. It’s a safe and fool-proof way of getting leads.

Another way to get leads through the Internet is to publish articles about healthcare. As mentioned earlier, people want information, not products or offers. They may need it, but most people get annoyed when they don’t find the information they need. If they were unable to do so because of your offers, then you can kiss that potential customer goodbye. Instead of being proactive, lure them in to your offer. The only way to do that is to give them the information they need. As long as you wrote your articles right, the reader will certainly be interested and will check out your website if you have placed a link in your resource box, found at the bottom of the article.

You can also try publishing articles on your own non-branded website. Implement keyword density so that the websites are easily found and will rank high in the search engine results pages. You can then see traffic flowing to your website. Take advantage of this traffic to filter out interested individuals by introducing a form where they can subscribe to a newsletter that will be sent to their e-mail address. That will be all the information you’ll need to start your lead nurturing campaign.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

Tips for Successful Online Lead Generation

Download This Document from Docstoc

Lead generating is the first step in the marketing process. In this step, the marketing department comes up with a list of people who have the potential and the interest to buy the products that the company is offering. This can be done both automatically and manually. From the list, the company can come up with qualified leads, or those who are capable of buying products from them. They have prospects whom they can deal with.

No matter what your lead generating process may be, whether it’s automatic or manual, you still need to polish a few things before you can get an ongoing stream of leads coming into your company. Here are a few tips that you may find useful for your lead-generating efforts using the Internet:

Make Use of Your Existing Network

All of you have a network of friends and acquaintances. They can be close friends or simply people that you have met at work or at some function. These people qualify as leads already, as they also have their own network of friends and acquaintances. Out of this pool of people, you can be sure that there are one or two people who are interested in getting your products. You can also be sure that each person also holds a network of his own in which he could refer your products to any person who may be interested.

The word of mouth is a powerful tool. In fact, it is where viral marketing was developed from.

Leverage on Search Engines

Search engines are also effective tools to rely on while in an Internet lead-generation campaign. Search engines are the ones that can lead traffic to your website, since they are used by people to look for information that they are interested in. Provided that you do things right, search engines can work for you.

One way to leverage the power of search engines is to develop a good website. Employ effective search engine optimization tools like keyword density when coming up with the content for your website. You should also have your website designed professionally. There are two reasons for this. Keyword density makes it possible for search engine spiders to index you and assign a high place in the search engine result pages or SERP. Make sure not to abuse the keywords by repeating them excessively, as this may cause your website to be listed as spam thus putting all your efforts to waste.

No matter how keyword-dense your website is and how high it ranks in the SERP, people who visit your website will still be discouraged from learning further about your products if the website is designed in a cluttered manner. Make sure your contents are well-structured, and the overall design of the website should be pleasing. It doesn’t have to be flashy, just as long as it doesn’t make the user leave the website right away after entering.

Take Advantage of Social Networking Websites

Ever since Friendster, MySpace, Multiply, and other social networking websites made their introduction into the online world, social network has become an instant hit among Internet users. Thanks to these websites, it is now easy to reach out to people and hook up with those who share the same interests as you do. As a marketer, there is a free-for-all market from which you can find prospective clients and qualified leads as long as you pull the strings right.

You can take advantage of forums focusing on your niche market as well. Make sure to post quality replies and avoid spamming. The only promotion you should do in forums is to put your website link in your signature.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

Two Important Elements in Lead Management

Download This Document from Docstoc

Well, if you have been reading my blog posts, then you definitely know that there are a lot of elements that are related with lead management. Today, however, we would focus on two. These are the ones that are not talked about often, yet their role is integral for creating a more efficient lead management program for your business.

Tracking the Leads

Tracking is considered to be the first and the most important part of lead management. When you already have your prospects, the next thing that you should do is to make sure that the sales agents can place a call. Tracking also means that leads are followed up just in case they say no on the first offer, or they express apprehension on the initial call.

There are a lot of rules that are related to tracking your leads. We’ll focus on the more important ones. Okay, first, make sure that the leads are tracked within 48 hours. Otherwise, you can already consider them stale. When you’re going to communicate with them using different touch points—e-mail and phone—after 2 days, there’s a huge chance that the prospects are no longer interested.

During tracking, you must also be able to generate feedback from prospects. You can use their comments and suggestions to better the tracking process of your business and increase your conversion rate more quickly.

Introducing the Programs

Yes, we are talking about applications here. Even the smallest business should learn to adapt technology. Otherwise, it will be very hard for the owner to keep up with the performance of his competitors. There are a lot of them that you can choose from, but not all of them would be ideal and thus be adapted by the enterprise. After all, there are several things that you need to consider. These include the price, nature of business, and people who are going to use them.

For lead management, you have the lead management software. We basically tackled that for the longest time. By now, you already understood their main role in the organization. This is also highly important when you are tracking leads. You need to be able to centralize the lead management process, so you can minimize errors like duplicate entries of leads and lack of updates in the database.

But you definitely need more than that. I would suggest the use of mobile phones or laptops that are capable of connecting to the Internet. This way, your sales agents can also work even when they are on the road.

For example, if they happen to be in a trade show in another state, they don’t need to be bringing a lot of paper work, such as registration forms. You know how papers can get lost along the way. Rather, they can immediately key in the names and contact information of their leads directly into the system. This may also mean that the lead management program that you are going to use is web-based.

You should also pair your lead management software with a CRM application. A lot of people seem to think of these as similar, but they are not. The former is mainly used for building prospects, while the latter is for maintaining your customers. Keep in mind that your business ties with your leads end when sales agents can close some deals with them. In fact, it’s only a start. You have better chances of selling new products and services to existing clients. Your CRM software can make sure that you don’t miss out that point.

As long as these two aspects are incorporated into the lead management system properly, there’s no way that a business will struggle in coming up with an effective process.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

Developing Your Own Lead Management

Download This Document from Docstoc

There were a lot of discussions about the importance of lead management, but only a few really touched on how you can develop your own lead management. Though it will never be easy, as long as you have the right guidelines, it would not be long before you can have a dependable system in place.

Where should the responsibility lie?

The responsibility of developing a lead management process does not only rely on the manager. He should be able to encourage sales supervisors to help out too. They are the ones who are always dealing with customers and thus have already understood their behavior. Their sales agents are also the ones who will be managing the lead management software and databases.

What are the processes involved?

A lead management process should cover the following:

Creation of a Database. The very first thing that a lead manager should do is to come up with a database. It will basically hold all important information pertaining to your leads such as their contact numbers, addresses, and perhaps their interests. The list may be derived in different ways. If you have been marketing online, you can get your leads from your opt-in list. For those who go through the traditional methods, the potential clients may come from trade shows, walk-in inquiries, or telephone calls. Some companies may get their list from lead generation firms.

Lead Tracking. Once there are already available leads, a sales agent should then start tracking them. There are different aspects of lead tracking. It is done to invite a client for an appointment. A salesperson will have to talk to the client personally and demonstrate the benefits and features of the product. If the client expresses interests, he will be called again for confirmation. However, not all leads will say yes to an appointment for a variety of reasons. A sales agent may have to track them again just in case there is a new product that may match their interest.

Lead Routing. The leads should be assigned to the right sales agents. Now, to whom the leads should go to will depend on the criteria set up by the company. There are some who would assign them to the best sales agents. There are also others who would train sales agents to handle a specific product. They will then handle leads that would express interest over it. One of the most popular methods of lead assignment is round robin. This means that leads will go to sales agents who have already worked on with the others. It may take a while for companies to know the best strategy, but once you have it, you are assured that it does work.
Lead Scoring. Lead scoring refers to the process of determining the high-valued leads. As mentioned, not all leads will be interested to buy your products now. Others may look for better offers, while there are leads that should not have been part of the list in the first place. They may have been there because of misinterpretation of your opt-in list or advertising materials. Like lead routing, there are different ways on how to score your leads.

Lead Nurturing. It is easy for businesses to promote their new product lines to existing customers or leads. Thus, a lead manager should come up with strategies on how to nurture their leads and establish long-term relationships with them. One of the most popular strategies is drip marketing, including e-mail marketing. This means that businesses will be sending small marketing materials to those that belong to their opt-in list.

You may also want to include a lead management program that allows you to effectively implement the above-mentioned processes.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

The Best Ways to Convert Your Leads into Loyal Customers

Download This Document from Docstoc

So many tried it, but a lot of them failed. This is because they may have become too reliant to technologies, allowing these man-made applications to work things for them rather than simply seeing them as tools. For example, though lead managers have become very important part in businesses, since they permit you to manage your leads more effectively, they are not the “be all end all.” The success of the business still relies on its human resources: you and your sales agents.

So how you can make sure that you can convert as many leads as possible? You can take note of these effective ways:

1. Come up with a good lead processing plan. You have to keep in mind that it’s never enough that you have leads, all arranged neatly in a database. Unless you give each one of them a call and set an appointment, they are all worthless. If you bought them from a lead generation company, then they become expenses rather than investments. It’s therefore essential that you and your team can devise a workable lead management plan. What are the best ways to nurture them? Should you implement drip marketing? How do you exactly keep track on your leads, and how should lead prioritization go? All these questions—and even more—must be answered by the plan.

Because there are a lot of uncontrolled situations that you’re going to meet along the way, there’s the possibility that you can’t follow everything in your plan. Nevertheless, the most important thing is that you have a guide that can help you get on track just in case you get lost.

2. Communicate immediately. Don’t wait for the next day or even few hours before you make that important phone call. In case you don’t know, it’s very easy for leads to change their minds, especially if you don’t pay attention to them. What you need to do is to just get an appointment with them so you can present your products and services. This would not take a long time, around 3 to 5 minutes the most.

3. Ensure that the leads will have a pleasurable experience with you. It’s all a matter of providing the best impression to your leads, even for just a short time. For one, you can increase your response time from 10 to 15 minutes for follow-up leads. You may also offer some freebies or other perks to your leads if they agree to an appointment with you. You may also offer discounts for every product that they are going to buy at a certain period of time.

4. Score your leads. Not all leads are similar. Some of them may be eager to buy your products or avail of your services. There may be also others who are just as interested in your business but would likely postpone the purchase in the next few days or months. Others will never be interested at all, and they may have been added to your database because of faulty opt-in list. With scoring your leads, you can easily determine which of these leads will be given priority. Of course, you would go for the first one, knowing that it will not take you a long time to persuade them to make a purchase from you.

You are the master of your own business. Thus, the power to make it successful or complete failure rests upon you. With the aid of dependable lead management software and excellent sales training of your staff, it will not be completely impossible. With this, you can direct your enterprise to the right direction.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

Lead Management through Drip Marketing

Download This Document from Docstoc

Lead management is one of the most difficult parts of marketing. If you have a lead, you have to make sure that the lead stays a lead. This means that he or she should hold the same level of interest for your product that he or she did even if there had been no sales made. Marketing is quite aggressive, however, which can sometimes run contrary to the aim of lead management.

The difficulty associated with lead management is that people are so quick to gain interest but also so quick to lose it. As a marketer, failure to understand this could result to disastrous marketing campaigns. There’s a mistaken belief going on that to keep the customer interested, marketers should bombard their leads and potential customers with aggressive marketing. This could backfire; your leads may become annoyed and no longer interested with your products.

However, it is also incorrect to say that you should be passive with your marketing campaign. This can work to your disadvantage as well. If you send in only one advertisement in your lead’s mail and stop at that, it’s certain that your potential client will not remember your company. Remember, the goal in marketing and lead management is to keep the name of your company in your customer’s mind. This means you should regularly follow up on your prospects with a word dropped in every now and then.

The Key Is Balance

The key in successful lead management is balance. In life, we are taught not to go to the extremes: never too less, never too much. If you eat less, you become hungry faster or you become underweight and get sick easily. However, if you eat too much, you risk becoming overweight and be exposed to obesity-related diseases as well.

The same goes for lead management. Knocking too much on your customer’s door will annoy him and you’ll be certain he’ll throw you out the next time you knock, figuratively speaking. Your mails would be thrown out of the window or into the paper shredder without being opened. On the other hand, if you knock rarely at their doors, they won’t know your company and, along the way, they won’t know what products you offer them. Again, the key is balance. Keep knocking every once in a while, and your customers will surely remember what you are selling for a business.

A Steady Flow Does the Trick

Drip marketing is a new marketing concept that has been created to address the need for regular lead management and nurturing. It is similar to the concept of irrigation and watering plants: too much water will kill the plant by drowning it, so it is important to keep a steady and controlled flow of water to prevent that from happening. The term “drip” comes from the practice of using sprinklers in irrigating and watering plants and crops. There is never too much or too less water that comes to the plants via these instruments as long as it’s steady and continuous.

Applying it to lead management, this means that there should be a steady flow of advertising mails or cold calls to your prospect’s number. The duration varies from marketer to marketer; it’s up to you to come up with a timetable. The important thing to keep in mind is that it should be regular and consistent. If you choose to send mails twice a month, keep at it. With a steady and regular mail or telemarketing campaign, your marketing and lead management will soon be part of your prospects’ routine. For them, it would be like subscribing to a magazine: they would want their issues regularly brought to their doorstep.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

Demystifying the Common Myths about Lead Management

Download this Article from Docstoc

Lead management is actually not a very easy thing to do. There are a lot of factors that you have to consider, and the process itself entails a lot of steps. For example, when you have leads, you don’t only track them, but you also have to learn how to score these sales leads. This means that you have to determine which of these leads you should value more than the others simply because they offer faster conversion rate.

What makes lead management more difficult, though, are the different myths about it. A number of those who are into sales leads fall into their traps and, in the process, commit a lot of mistakes along the way. When there are numerous errors, you are not actually maximizing the leads that you have, and you may even potentially lose them.

Break the Myths

Here are the various misconceptions that you can have about lead management:

1. One call is enough. Unless you’re a certified marketing genius or your company name is already a household thing, your sales leads will never truly believe you right away. Even if you’ve found them to be truly interested in what you’re offering to them, it really takes a while for them to warm up, more so buy things or avail of services from you. Another possible hindrance is the lack of money, which definitely prevents them from closing the deal.

When practicing effective lead management, ensure that you can follow drip marketing. This is the process where marketing information are revealed not by one huge blow but bit by bit. This practically allows you to heighten the interest of your potential customers while buying them time to come up with enough cash to buy or avail of whatever you have. It also makes sure that your name will not suddenly disappear into their memory.

You may also have to stick with follow-ups and feedbacks. Every interested lead is worth pursuing, and giving them a second or third call will make them feel that they are not just any one of your leads that you can simply let go.

2. You don’t need a lead management software. A number of businesses are apprehensive of getting their own lead manager because they see no point to having one or that the price could be a little hefty for them. Thus, they settle for Excel sheets and other free programs. There’s really nothing wrong with using the latter. However, if you have the desire to increase your business exponentially, you may want to invest in a lead management software.

There are already a lot of them that are web-based, so you can access the database and information anywhere you are in the world and anytime. What’s more, they also permit you to follow the different process involved in lead management, which includes lead tracking, scoring, and prioritizing. If you have your own sales team, they can utilize a centralized automated system, where information are updated on real time. This can help in preventing having double lead entries in your database or calling the same lead more than once.

3. You spend so much time on every lead. Every lead counts; however, not all of them are worth spending a lot of time to. There are really sales leads that should have not been part to your list, but are anyway. This usually happens if you have a mailing list, and someone accidentally entered his name and e-mail address to the opt-in list. It could also be that you have a poor landing page, which then drives wrong leads to your website.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

Wasted Leads: How Lead Management Can Help Minimize This

Download this Article from Docstoc

For those companies who purchase leads from lead generating companies, a wasted lead is an expense that they can very well do without. How do leads get wasted, and in what sense are they wasted? Can lead management and lead management software help minimize, if not, altogether stop the wasted potential that these leads have?

Wasted Leads and How These Happen

You may have seen this happen before. You have a very good lead, a potential sale that you know can really turn a profit for your company then the next thing you know, the lead suddenly turns sour and disappears. How does this happen? Wasted leads are leads that could have become sales for you had they been handled properly or by the right people. The loss of a good lead is often due to mishandling, and this can often fall on the shoulders of the sales agent who handled the pitch. Another person who can also be called to task for this kind of a loss is the sales manager or in this case, the lead manager. Potential customers that are lost, specifically those that are called qualified leads, could actually be prevented had there been lead management software set in place or a lead management system set in motion.

How a lead is lost is usually due to some factors that could have been avoided had there been a lead manager in charge of lead distribution or lead assignment. When a potential lead or a qualified lead is generated, whether it be from software that is custom made for the company or from lead-generating companies that you employ to do this for you, you will need to hand it over to one of your better agents to make it convert. Having a trainee or someone who is new to your team handle such a lead can result in a wasted lead, and you do not want that. If you had a lead manager or even lead management software in place, the possibility of this happening is minimized.

How to Salvage Wasted Leads

We all know that prevention is better than a cure, and while a wasted lead can be considered a huge loss, you can actually try and salvage the lead with the use of a team of individuals who are experts at troubleshooting such a problem. Most of the time there is no need for a team like this if there were an efficient lead manager and software in place at the start, but having a backup like this cannot hurt the company one bit. The people who will man such a team should consist of highly amiable people who know how to convince people to rethink their decisions in terms of the lost sale or negative outcome of the previous transaction. This team should consist of people who can also answer any question about the products, services, and other possible questions that such leads might ask concerning the company and the like.

Since this team will definitely be handling people who have already talked with other sales agents in the same company, the very agents who lost these qualified leads, the people in this team will have to work twice as hard to get these people to reconsider the services and products of the company with sales savvy, excellent public relations, and an air of friendliness that is hard to resist. While a lot of companies may not consider having such a team on hand, it is rather wise to have one that can follow up on these lost leads after a day or two of losing them. This means that they might still get these leads to turn a profit for the company by giving the lead a day to rethink things and a new perspective from another agent who can better serve their needs.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

Using Lead Management Software: The Reasons Why Your Company Should Have One

Download this Article from Docstoc

When you talk about lead management, you are essentially talking about making the most of the leads you get. Getting leads for your business is just the first step in getting your business to succeed. While you can follow up on these leads without a lead manager, you will be wasting a lot of good leads by simply leaving things to chance. Lead management software will help you to not only keep track of the leads you get, but they also help you see who in your team effectively follows up on these leads and makes them convert into revenues.

Why Use Lead Management Software?

The real question here is, why not? What have you got to lose if you use lead management software to take care of the management of your leads for you and your company? In fact, you might stand to lose more if you do not have a leads manager or a lead management system integrated into your business. With an efficient lead management system, you can make your leads work for you as soon as you get hold of them, and you can keep track of how these leads move and produce for your business.

Another reason why you should consider having lead management software for your business is to help you keep track of how your people handle the leads you get. More often than not, with a business that does not have a lead manager in place, when leads that hold great potential get lost, you cannot tell who lost the lead in the first place or what happened to make you lose that lead. With a system that helps you track and manage your leads, you not only see where and why such a lead slipped through your fingers, you can also pinpoint where it slipped through.

Knowing where your business went slightly askew and where your leads slipped will give you a chance to start certain changes to help maximize the earning potential and capacity of your business. You can also see who of your staff needs some help with handling these leads effectively and what kind of training you might need to give to help your people generate the positive results your business needs. With a lead manager or lead management system, you can do all that and even more, if you want.

This kind of a system will even help you streamline your marketing strategies, initiate radical and positive changes in how your staff should handle these leads, and create new ideas on how you can maximize the leads you get with marketing strategies that you garner from the tracking of these leads. Since management software show you where leads got lost and help you stop this loss, you are essentially getting a marketing tool that keeps track of your leads and makes you use them to your advantage by making you see where the much-needed changes should be made.

Where to Get These Lead Management Software

There are a number of software manufacturers that actually specialize in the creation of lead management software and tracking software for companies that need the help. These software development companies often have packages that are ready made and can be used as soon as you purchase such tracking and lead management software from them. There are also companies that make customized lead management software for those who have specific needs for their leads. These companies can be contacted via e-mail, via phone hotlines, or even via chat, if these sites that offer such software are capable of such. Of course, you can then ascertain for yourself how well these companies work with such software since they will definitely have one of these at work when you get in touch with them for your own lead management software.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

The Benefits of Good Lead Management

Download this Article from Docstoc

Businesses are easier to manage these days because of the various innovations that have revamped the market. All you need is a stable computer and a good lead management software, then you are all set.

There are a lot of benefits a business can reap out of a good lead management. With them, you can effectively keep track, prioritize, and sort out all your leads, making sure that you can make the most out of the information to boost your profits and your customer base.

New Customers

Sales of any website—or store, for that matter—rely on customers who were directed there by either hearing about the store or reading an advertisement. However, consumers are picky these days; they want the best of everything, including the best customer support. With that, they most likely think that the store will help them out to fulfill what the advertisement had stated. If your potential customers are numerous, there is always the possibility that you could not follow through their interest or queries. But with good lead management, you do not have to worry about things as simple as keeping tabs of potential customers.

A good lead manager will be able to make use of a lead management software that can keep the demands of the consumers always on the right track.

The process of lead management starts with choosing the right lead management software for your type of business. Your advertisement will then be programmed with the software to be automatically captured once a customer checks it out. This will benefit you because all leads will also be screened automatically as to their validity and level of interest. You can weed out those that would probably just waste your time. You will then be able to respond to valid queries and possibly create some sales out of your leads. You can only get those sales if you had a good lead management system. Your valid clients will not be lost along the complicated processes. Just imagine if you have to sort hundreds or thousands of potential clients in a day. You will be doing more checking and less selling then.

Aftersales

You can benefit from an efficient lead manager in that all your sales will be tracked and followed up even after the consumer has purchased your products. Why bother? Because consumers who were satisfied with your product plus your system will be back; there’s no need for new advertisements for that client. Moreover, since the software can be updated, it’s very easy to determine which of the leads have been monitored closely and which of them still need to be contacted. This is to ensure that there will be no high-priority leads that are being ignored. After all, doing so may mean that you’re eliminating profits into your business.

Clientele

Building up your clientele will be good for your business; that is a fact. A good lead manager will be able to centralize everything from the start of the lead generation up to lead tracking after the sale has been accomplished; satisfied consumers will be your free walking advertisement. That is your ultimate goal as a business entity: clientele expansion.

To be able to keep track of all the complicated processes of your business, reports are automatically generated by an efficient lead manager. These reports can include trend analysis and marketing campaign targets.

To best experience the many benefits that good lead management can offer, make sure that you use an efficient but simple-to-understand lead management software. You will be able generate sales without having to hire an expensive IT team to help you out.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

Keeping Track of Your Leads and Your Results: Lead Management and Lead Management Software

Download this Article from Docstoc

When you need to find out how you can effectively manage the leads your business gets, you can actually try and find a lead manager or lead management software to help you do this.

Why do you need to manage your leads?

Where do you find a lead management program to do this for you?

How can lead management help your company?

Lead management is an effective tool that helps maximize the leads your marketing strategies generate. The use of this tool to help increase the productivity of your leads is seen as a solution to the problem of wasted leads that every company experiences.

It has been noted that only a small percentage of the leads that you get from your well-thought-out marketing programs and lead-generating strategies are actually utilized to the fullest. A lot of the leads that are generated for such purposes usually fall through cracks in the system due to the lack of a management program that keeps track of the leads that the company gets.

The solution to such a problem is seen in a lead management program that uses lead management software, which is handled by a lead manager. When you manage your leads, you essentially get to organize the way you handle them—from marketing to selling and down to billing and maintaining of customers. This helps ensure that the loss of lucrative leads is kept to a certain percentage that can be tolerated by the company.

You can find a lot of lead management software and lead management programs that can help you increase the productivity of your company as well as increase the number of leads you can effectively use. These programs not only help you keep track of where your leads go or how many leads you acquire, but they also help you determine where they fall off and oftentimes why. The programs that help you track the movement of your leads also help you determine what action is needed to curb these drop offs. An example of such an area where your leads may drop off is with your sales personnel. With trackers that are put in place with the lead management software you employ, you can easily tell which sales team or individual seems to be losing leads for the company. This is where you can then put into place measures to help with the loss or to administer solutions to the problems the loss of these leads create.

Another reason why you and your company should employ a lead management strategy is to increase the overall productivity of your business. Even when your sales and marketing teams are highly efficient, you can benefit more with the help of a program that helps keep track of your leads for you and assists with the distribution and assignment of these leads to the people who can make these leads produce results for you. This kind of program can also be used to generate more leads should there be a lack of viable ones that are income generating.

A lead management software can be used to analyze certain demographics and to get down to the basics of how to get these certain market groups to patronize your products and services. You can even take it a step further and try to pair a lead management program with a lead analytics program to see how your business should be handled. With the use of these two programs, you can increase the effectiveness of your company tenfold and decrease the number of sales losses and lead drop offs due to lead mismanagement or improper handling of leads.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com

4 Sure-fire Ways to Better and More Effective Lead Management

Download this Article from Docstoc

Why do you need to practice lead management? Perhaps it is better if we rephrase the question. Do you know that your sales leads are just as precious as your customers? After all, these people will be the ones who are going to purchase your products or use your services, depending on your persuasion skills and your presentation.

Needless to say, though, when you learn to effectively manage your leads, you will be able to convert your prospects to buyers and clients. When this happens, you will not only increase your profits, but you can also expand your customer base and experience growth in your business.

The Ways to Do It
A lead manager can perform either or, better yet, all of the following functions to ensure that he can effectively practice his lead management skills:

1. Make sure that you can qualify your sales leads. Not everyone can be your potential customer. This is because there will be some or even a large number of them who will not be interested in what you are offering to them. Spending time telemarketing or sending product updates to them will just be utterly useless. Rather, spend most of your marketing efforts to the so-called qualified leads. These are the individuals that showcase interest in your product or service. If not, you can base your assumption in their behavioral patterns, demographics, and other information that you can find in the profile.

2. Use a lead management software. If you are running a very small business, there is a huge chance that your good-old Excel sheet will do just fine. Nevertheless, a lead management software will be very useful to the lead manager, especially if the organization has the desire to grow or expand later on.

There are a variety of benefits one can get from using a lead management software:
* It is very flexible. Majority of lead applications that are available in the market can be customized according to the needs or the nature of the business. This is very important as, again, you want to ensure that the prospects are the most appropriate ones for your business.

* You can easily keep track of your leads. You do not need to spend your time scrolling from top to bottom, side to side, just to locate your prospect. Using the lead management software, you can simply make use of a Search function. Moreover, you can even add filters in order to come up with the most ideal leads or the ones that you have been trying to look for.

* The sales leads can easily be delegated and accessed by your sales agents. You do not have to manually assign every person that gets into your database. The lead management software can already do this for you. What’s more, the sales agents can also indicate if they have already presented the business to the prospects or not, as well as the success or failure rate.

* It is convenient to derive a performance metrics. To come up with better sales decisions, you need to keep track every aspect of your marketing efforts, and that includes your sales leads. With the data collected by the lead management software, it would not take long before you can come up with a performance metrics that you can use during marketing planning.

3. Be as personal as possible. The traditional method of selling, where there is a stark difference between the seller and the buyer, is fast waning. What is working is personalization of services and sales efforts. If you want to ensure that your sales leads do not end up calling you to take their names off the list, it’s better to try to be as personal as possible with your marketing approach. You can start it by using their first name when sending correspondence or product updates, even when you’re calling them on the phone.

4. Implement a more organized lead management system. A lead management software is a good start; however, the lead manager should also devise a well-organized lead management system that can be easily followed by sales agents and monitored by the management. When there’s proper flow of work, you can prevent problems such as lead redundancy or duplication from happening.

Visit our lead management software sponsor: www.leads360.com
